The Howards' Christmas Light Display

Happy Holidays and Welcome to our site! We have been putting lights up for over ten years now! Every year we try to add or change something to our display. We have gone from 6,697 lights in 1999 to now over 33,000 lights this year! This year we have added a special attraction - a light show with synchronized music. If you have not yet seen the display, we urge you to come out and take a look! You don't know what you're missing! We have made this website to give you a brief overview of what we have on display this year and to get feedback from our viewers.

A Brief History of Our Lighting Experience

We usually begin putting lights up the weekend after Halloween - but now that our youngest is away at college and our oldest daughter works two jobs - this leaves my wife and I to put up the display ourselves. We started putting the lights up the first weekend in October. By starting this early, this also gave us the opportunity to take advantage of the nice weather we had this year. This process takes all of our spare time during the month of October and November to get all the lights up and ready! It takes us between two and three days just to run all the cords to all the areas containing lights. There are approximately 100 or more cords running throughout the yard. We now have two 50-amp service panels outside this year made especially to control all of the lights. Thanks to my brother-in-law. This year we have added new things such as more yard ornaments, different lighting and an FM radio transmitter that plays Christmas music that you can tune your car radio to (FM 88.1) with a light show for your enjoyment. We enjoy doing this very much and we hope that you enjoy it too. Hopefully there will be many more years ahead that we continue this tradition. Thank you and please tell your friends about us!
