Most pets will benefit from being able to remain at home and would enjoy the loving care and attention they would receive from their pet care provider. However, there are some things you should consider before leaving your pet at home with a caregiver or sitter.

1. How is your pet with other people without your presence?

   Does your pet have special care needs or require medication? This is usually not a problem, however, very ill pets or pets who are difficult to medicate may be better off under the care of a Veterinarian.
   
3. Does your pet require constant supervision?
   
4. How does your pet react when left at home alone?
   
5. How do you feel about having a caregiver/sitter access your home or property?
   
6. Are you and your pets happy with your current pet care?
7. Is your pet willing to accept hands-on care, if necessary?
8. Does your pet reside solely outdoors?
   

If you are not sure as to whether or not you should leave your pets with a pet care provider/sitter, why not have a them make a trial visit? This will give you a chance to see how the sitter provides service and gives your pets time to get acquainted with their caregiver/sitter.
